Sending my love and prayers to all who knew and loved this great man.

Rest in Peace.

From an earlier post:

There are times when I feel so lucky to be doing what I do, and right now is one of those times.

Last month Sarah (the bride from my latest wedding) called me up to tell me her Grandfather who is terminally ill would not be able to attend the wedding, so she asked me if I could go to him and capture some special moments with her Daughter and Grandfather . Sarah prepped me before I arrived about the special relationship between Grandad (as everyone calls him) and Chaeli.

When I saw Chaeli run down the stairs Grandad’s face was beaming and everything else appeared forgotten for this moment in time. The love between these two was evident in every shot taken. Honestly, I looked at them through tears the first few times. I felt so honored to capture this beautiful girl spending time entertaining her handsome Grandad, and being able to walk away with special memories frozen in time for their family.

Soon after I arrived Chaeli’s Grandmother told me Sarah had picked out all of Chaeli’s outfits, however Chaeli had plans of her own :) Chaeli, loves loves loves Indian Jones, and informed me her name for the day was Indiana Jooney, and she was going too put together her best mismatched outfits. Indiana Jooney’s outfits never looked so fabulous as they did on this special day!

P.S. Don’t forget to turn your sound on!!

Finally more from the gorgeous wedding in Flagstaff two weeks ago. I was so honored to be able to second shoot for fellow photographer & friend Jennifer Fauset. Jen is an amazing photographer from Salt Lake City, Utah. Check out her site for more shots from this wedding @ Fauset Photography.

The wedding was held at the Church of the Nativity in downtown Flagstaff, which offered a beautiful backdrop for Guin & Jeff’s special day. We then had a quick stop at NAU for some more shots before heading to the reception at Thornagers on Kiltie Lane.

I realized something about myself at this wedding…as toasts were being given by the maid of honor, and the best man I found my camera hanging low around my neck and tears in my eyes. I hadn’t even realized that I was so moved by these beautiful toasts that I had failed to take one photo in the last ten minutes. I looked over to see Jen shooting away, it was at this point I realized what a newbie I am! :)

Last week I went down to the valley to photograph the Gibson family. Recently the Gibson’s cousin surprised them, and sent a nomination to Giving Back Photography for the family to receive a free photo session. A fellow photographer friend contacted me, and asked if I was close to Scottsdale. This is how I found out about Giving Back Photography, the Gibson’s & their critically ill daughter… Cloey.  I was so excited to be a part of this, to be able to give this family a few memories to hang on their walls…Of Cloey, Cal & Lainey. You see Cloey was born with a very rare genetic disorder that affects every system in her body……but it has not touched her beautiful smile, her spirit or her ability to make everyone around her feel her love.  I count myself blessed just to have been near this beautiful family. Cal is so funny always making his family (and me)  laugh. Lainey is so shy that I had to chase her to capture that adorable smile. :) Megan & Ty your love for your family was a beautiful thing to see, I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

To learn more about Cloey visit her blog @  http://princesscloey.blogspot.com/

I love this first shot! I had asked Cloey what color her beautiful hair was. She stopped and thought, then tried to look.

Her answer………..CURLY!!
